How to Print Nutrition Labels: PDF, PNG, and Label Sheets

To print a nutrition label in Labelara, open Download in the recipe builder, choose what belongs in the file, and select one label or a sheet. Download the PDF and print at 100% / Actual size. Start with a plain-paper test so you can check the size and position before using label stock.

PDF or PNG: which file should you use?

PNG downloads contain one label. To get Labelara's repeated sheet layout, choose a sheet and download its PDF. Print from the exported file so you use the chosen composition and dimensions.

1. Review the recipe and the text that will print

Check the ingredient matches, quantities, and serving count before downloading. Review your ingredient list and allergens against the ingredients you actually use. The calculation methodology explains how recipe inputs become per-serving nutrition values.

In the download step, choose one of three compositions:

• Nutrition Facts panel only: use this when the other label text is already in your package artwork.
• Panel + ingredients and allergens: include the panel and the text block in one file.
• Ingredients and allergens only: export the text block on its own.

When your composition includes the text block, you can edit product, business, and other text fields without completing them all. Before a print-ready export, the builder checks the selected state profile. Confirm any required information already provided on another part of the package. Check the whole preview, including the last line. Longer ingredient statements need more room, so finalize the text before choosing the sheet.

2. Choose one label, an Avery sheet, or a custom grid

Just the label file exports a single label without a sheet layout. This is useful when you will position it in existing packaging artwork.

The sheet picker offers Avery layouts 5163, 5164, 5168, 22806, 5126, and 5165. The preview shows how the label would fit the available space. A print-ready file must preserve the supported type-size minimum; a watermarked draft may show a reduced layout. Match the product number on your label stock to the selected layout. A similar-looking sheet can have different margins and spacing.

Read the preview and label count before downloading. Some larger stickers can carry several copies that you cut apart. The number of printed labels can therefore be greater than the number of stickers on the sheet.

Custom size makes a grid on an 8.5 × 11 inch US Letter page. Enter the label width and height in inches, then the columns and rows. Add cut marks if you will cut the labels yourself. This option creates a grid for plain paper; it does not provide controls for matching an arbitrary manufacturer's margins and gaps.

Check the size and scale shown in the preview. If the selected sheet needs reduction, choose a larger sheet or a single-label file for final printing. A watermarked draft remains available while you work. Use the vertical and tabular layout guide to compare panel formats, and review the font-size guide before changing the final printed dimensions.

3. Set the number of copies

Leave Copies empty to fill the sheet, or enter a smaller number to leave the remaining positions blank. This count applies to one exported page. Use the page copy count in your PDF print dialog when you need several identical sheets.

Labelara fills positions from the beginning of the sheet in reading order. It currently has no setting to start at a later sticker or skip used positions. Use a fresh sheet when printing the generated layout.

4. Print one test at the correct scale

Open the downloaded PDF and check these settings:

1. For a sheet PDF, select US Letter, 8.5 × 11 inches, matching the generated page.
2. Select 100% / Actual size. Turn off options such as Fit to page or Shrink to fit, which change the label size and sheet spacing.
3. Print one page on plain paper. Measure the label against the space available on your sticker and package.
4. Hold the test against the unused label sheet and check the first and last rows. Confirm that the label stays inside the sticker edges.
5. Check that the text is clear, the bottom lines are present, and the complete label fits the package. Then print on the intended stock using its printer instructions.

Fix common printing problems

What you see	What to check next
Every label is smaller than expected	Check for automatic scaling in both the PDF viewer and printer settings.
The top row lines up but later rows drift	Recheck page size, scaling, and the sheet product number. Repeat the plain-paper test.
Labels are shifted by a similar amount everywhere	Check paper orientation, feed guides, and that the stock matches the selected template.
Text looks blurred after placing a PNG in another design	Check whether the image was enlarged or resampled. Use the original clean export and review its final size.
A sheet option disappears after editing	The new text or panel format may need more space. Review the newly available sheet choices.
